Newfoundland has rugged beauty
Newfoundland alphabet
A is for anchor that keeps boats on the Moor
Buoy is a float to stop from drifting ashore
C is for Codfish that makes a really tasty dish.
D is the dessert that follows, choose anything you wish.
Ebbs and flows like the evening tide
Fishermen fish the mighty ocean so wide.
Grounds is where all schools of fish are found.
Harbours are where the boats are now bound
I is for icebergs that float freely in the bay
J is for jams made back in the day
Kelp is seaweed that sits on the ocean floor
Lighthouse beams guide sailors safety to the shore
Mummering - a tradition that keeps Christmas alive.
Newfoundland is my home I say that with pride
Ode to Newfoundland place of my birth
Partridgeberrries grow bountiful on barren earth
Quaint little towns perfect our island home
Rugged coastline beauty wherever you may roam
Seashells galore line the sandy beach
Treasures of Newfoundland within your reach
Urchins with spines sit far in the deep
Vinyard is where fish play hide-and-seek
Waves crash and break upon the sandy beach
X-ray fish glow and come to the surface to breach
Youngsters have so much fun in Newfoundland
Zest for a province for I'm a great fan
