A 70 year friendship
A Life-long Friendship
A Journey of Seven Decades
In the rosy blush of morning light, two boys tumbled into the world— John and Art, hand in hand, kicking up laughter, dust from the playground.
Kindergarten dreams unfurled beneath swings, while secrets whispered beneath wooden slides.
Through crayons and puzzles, they stepped— ink-stained hands shaping their bond of devotion.
Feet weaving through days sweet as summer cherries, they forged pictures colored with laughter, mischief; sticky notes in pocket-sized journals of youth.
Years rolled like waves on a sandy shore— in classrooms, they built castles from words, each chalkboard a map to their tomorrows.
Together they sailed through pencil-laden seas, to college where wisdom danced on every corner.
John became Pledge Pop, a guide through nights thick with stars; Art learned the art of friendship bathed in brotherhood’s glow.
Side by side in laughter and late-night debates, their journeys intertwined like vines under a warm sun, two souls supported by promises made in secret whispers.
Decades poured like fine wine from old barrels— risks taken shared over endless cups of coffee; hospitality wrapped around their hearts—a banquet of memories.
Each wrinkle earned was another chapter penned in time's book: picnics under sprawling oaks—beside waters clear as truth.
Through life’s storms they huddled close; courage tethered them tight.
From first grown-up jobs to philosophy’s long chats; they chalked lines against time's relentless pace— honoring laughter that spilled over like echoes down hallways.
Now as shadows stretch long at dusk’s embrace— hand on heart stretched young against the vast canvas; they smile at seventy years painted with courage; every moment a brushstroke worthy of celebration— today glimmers with countless tomorrows still yet to come.
They marvel at paths scattered like autumn leaves; each journey etched with laughter’s soft touch.
With joy encased in memories vibrant and bold, they stroll onward—companions against twilight’s pull.
In their steadfast bond woven tighter through trials and triumphs–
A story fit for a hero’s mantle stirs inside them both– for what is devotion if not this shared odyssey?
Honor roots deeply where love has flourished– as the world swirls around—their hearts anchor true.
