Bits and pieces from then till now

My Lifetime

by Debi Pick Marquette

My grandpa taught me about God and prayer

My dad was always my hero at home

My seven siblings at first were all there

My mom for all of us would write a poem

My health problems had started as a child

My mom's young death I tried hard to prevent

My teenage years I had been kinda wild

My conscience let me know I must repent

My boyfriend said, why don't we just elope

My country that I love has kept me free

My yearning to be mom was filled with hope

My life was moving way too fast for me

My love for others I try to portray

My doctor says they'll test again next week

My time is one step at a time each day

My husband says my love has been unique

My kids and grandkids bless me with their love

My lupus pain so often is the worst

My Jesus gives me comfort from above

My love for God and family comes first
