Debbie's unique red hair signaled 'Stop, look at me'!

Immersed in postwar weariness and loneliness, I bit.

Rejuvenating, I bathed in the lovely young woman's beauty

Each subtle gesture and word creating a seductive visage.

Carelessly our sweet nothings evolved into tasty somethings,

Trysts, carnal and otherwise, were all behind her fiance's back.

Routinely, when clothes flew off, engagement ring stayed put,

Exactly a month from wedding day, she informed me I was done.

Supposedly, she confessed 'our sins' and assured her marriage,

So, I erred, refusing to admit such beauty was far from deep.

Author Notes
I was taken to Key West by three friends who thought I should not be around for the weekend of the wedding. Fine with me. Our fishing trip was relaxing but I only caught one ... a barracuda.
