Morning Fair by Realist101 100 Word Story writing prompt entry |
If I let them, their laughter will certainly murder my heart ... muddy up what is left of me, and crush my very soul. If I allow it, they will drink toasts to my undoing--yet, still, life is only what I make of it. So, I wait here and dream of foxes in sunshowers, wedding in the forests green and wild. I long to be where no one person can sentence my soul to misery. Where the days are fair, and mild. These, the mists of time, bring with them the mournful sound of the coming train, as tiny dancers patter down on my unbrella, reassuring--promising, that there are no final ends. I smile inwardly as I loose these chains that bind. After all, there are no mortals on this earth who can steal away this, the morning of my days.
