This is a sweet story, and I understand Jasmine's feelings completely. I had stuffed animals when I was a child I'd have been devastated to lose and, in fact, I still have a stuffed lion I'd search for if he were missing. Thank you for showing a family story where the parents understand their children and take their feelings seriously. In too many stories, the parents are either foolish or unintentionally clueless. I also like your "role reversal," where the mom runs the errand while the dad stays with the child and does the cooking. Your story sends some very positive messages.

Hi Michele - I loved my stuffed toys too. Still got my tiger. I'm pleased you picked up on the role reversal.

I can still remember the names of the first stuffed animals I ever had. Not having been the most inventive toddler, I named my first Easter bunny "Easter." My favorite stuffed animal was a little kitten I named "Pella." My parents had friends who had a daughter named Marlene. She was a teenager when I was tiny, and she was nice to me so, of course, I adored her. I named a little girl doll after her. Unfortunately, I knew no cat names whatsoever. However, Marlene had a cat named Pella. My brilliant reasoning was, if Marlene named her cat "Pella," "Pella" must be a cat name. Since it was the only cat name I knew, I named my little kitten doll "Pella."

Short and sweet and the ending dotted all the i's and crossed each t.
Cute. Rare to see in a world that believes innocent is gone after the age of five

Forgive my late response - I am very grateful for your review.

This story, Mr. Grunty Goes Missing, digs deep as the tale of the missing huggable lends itself to the broader aspect of missing people who we have lost as well. Fortunately, some can be found again.

What a wonderful story about a child who lost her teddy and the mom went searching and found him sitting by a clerk's cash register. We never know how precious some things are until they are gone. Sometimes money is never a replacement. It is the sentimental value that counts.

This is a very cute and very well written story about losing and finding Mr. Grunty, the bear. You used very good descriptive words and very good imagery from the art work you chose. Best wishes in the contest. love and blessings, Teri

It has been that way all through life, Jenny. "We don't know what we've got til it's gone." We take for granted those dear and loving smiles. We assume that tinkling in the eyes will always be there. Then, on a cold day, the smiles fade and the eyes don't see. This is a good offering for the Love, Love, Love Contest. Thank you for sharing.

All's well that ends well. I did wonder how many times a kid has lost a beloved teddy bear or doll to point of heartbreak. Countless no doubt. Then I wondered how times a parent was able to find it. Probably not so much. This was a good mom and it all worked out. Good job.

This story had so many thoughtful moments telling us to not take everything for granted or to think we always have time when often we don't. The parents showed understand and lots of love was passed around.

This is a cute story demonstrating the love of a family. Only a loving mother would trek back to the shops in the rain to search for an old bear for her daughter. Dad made pizza. Mr. Grunty was back home. Jasmine was happy, and the world was good again. Best wishes in the contest.
