Hello Stan.
The tension continues to build in this chapter. Sam finds himself in an almost untenable situation. When tension builds on key characters, big things usually happen. I'm thinking some big changes will occur. Good job.

This is a very well written story and is very compelling to listen to. It flows very well when it is read aloud you're sentence the structure, your paragraphing and your punctuation all make it for a very good piece to listen to. May you have a wonderful day may you have a very happy new year and may God bless you. Patricia

Ain't that the truth? Things can certainly get away from your best intentions to keep control of situations, when someone else decides for you, usually there are signs that things aren't going well, but not for Sam, well dine, Stan, blessings Roy
Typo : He was (a) black man... 2: well I'm in (the) kitchen

Things do spiral out of control, very easily. I do like this story and can't wait to read more.

Taylor snorted a laugh, "Yea, I bet." (laugh.)

. He sank into his car, closed the door, and answered.

"Hey Honey. You doing okay? (answered, & them move dialogue closer.)

That's not like you Sam." (you,)

Poor Sam. He's left behind by his wife who's going to be with her mother to get over the depression of losing another baby. He's also left behind Taylor who really has been left behind by her boyfriend. He's probably relieved to be free of Taylor but her messes have caused some potential for problems with his wife. Great job with this chapter.
Happy New Year! I'll be off FS for much of January. Best wishes in your completing this book!
