This is an interesting juxtaposition of thoughts and feelings about the events of your life. I'm sorry that the pain of your lupus seems to overshadow other things. I'm glad you feel the comfort of God on your life and your pain. Blessings and prayers. Carol

This is a wonderful snapshot into the life and times of Debi Pick Marquette. What an interesting surname actually one I have heard of before!
I really like what you've done starting each lines with 'My'
Did you have lupus from childhood Debi? How is it for you?
My Mams cousin has it, we have a history of auto immune conditions in my family. I was diagnosed with severe arthritis at 26 but with meds these days its amazing I have an injection that I have been taking for years, it stops the deformities and most of symptoms.
Well done and thanks for sharing!
Best Wishes
Nicki xoxo

There's a saying that you can have R.A. without lupus
But you can't have lupus without R.A.
I was diagnosed at the same age that you were. It was right after my last daughter was born and I have been on many drugs, including deadly doses of Oxycontin, Percocet and Fentanyl, all at the same time for ten years.
It was hell coming off of it so two years ago when I had to have both my knees replaced I did it drug free. They told me it couldn't be done, but I painfully proved them wrong.
I also have severe kidney disease, stage four and chronic anemia since childhood. It all stems from being a DES baby. Period at 7 years old and so many surgeries that I only had a fourth of an ovary left by the time I was 15.
Anyway I will spare you the rest, but I have been blessed with so many good things too. Like YOU!! Thanks for your kind words and for being such a good friend. Lotsa love and hugs to you. Debi
PS- there are two more PMs you haven't read

This was a very heartfelt poem. If anyone is familiar with you, they know you put God and family first. I commend you on your faith. I will pray that your pain gets better. Thank you for sharing. Gretchen

I enjoyed reading this piece about your life, Debi and finding out more about you, I can't imagine growing up with seven siblings. A well written piece, I enjoyed reading it.

This poem is deeply heartfelt and beautifully personal. You've shared the journey of your life with such honesty and vulnerability, weaving together moments of joy, struggle, and unwavering faith. The consistent use of "My" at the start of each line gives the poem a steady rhythm, reflecting a life built on strong foundations of family, love, and belief.

Hello Debi,
it sounds as if you've had more than your share of hardship in your life. I wish you weren't dealing with the Lupus. I sometimes struggle with why some folks have so much to deal with in life and others seem to skate by. I know that no one has it easy all the time, life just isn't like that, but I wish that once in awhile I could pray for someone and it would bring about a real change for them. Hang in there gal.
Blessings,
Tom

This is a poetically honest mini life review...

Something we sometimes are called to do when our health has become challenging and times seem hard.

You offer a clear eyed view of Debi as a real human. Not always perfect, a sin or two along the way, certainly some painful losses--but Debi who has not ever let go of faith and who is determined to serve the Lord....

That's who I know, respect, and admire....

Always!

Karenina

It seems as if you had a lot of stars in the firmament of your life. Someone was there to teach you most everything, including a few pranks. It sounds like your life would be perfect if only lupus would take a hike.

LOL Carol, I like to keep my thinking positive. It's much easier to do when you always have your faith to look toward. So as much as my life really hasn't been all sunshine and butterflies, I like to think on those terms as I have my Jesus to make it feel better.
And thank you, my dear friend for the kindness in your words as your friendship means so much to me. Much love and hugs. Debi
