I have a question. Maybe I missed this (very possible)...
When no Alan and Ginnie got married, did Alan move into her house? Was his house converted to a larger store, workshop, additional classrooms?

This seemed repetitive to me-
Ginnie and Tommy both laughed. She said, "Isn't Callie's dad a lawyer? I don't think he's a patent attorney, but maybe he could recommend one."

"That's a good idea. I think I'll give him a call.((( Maybe he could, or at least he could let me know where to go about finding one.")))

I'd eliminate the sentence I bracketed, it's treating what Ginnie stated.

Only my suggestion. You know better then I would.

Good quick chapter...
John

I guess there wasn't an official move-in date; it just came about gradually. The shop remains pretty much the same.

This is a great test of Alan's new device. And Tommy is now his very own son. Life has certainly looked up for Alan, but seeking a patent lawyer is going to be a challenge, I suspect.

I had to consult a friend of mine who is a lawyer about this patent process because I had a bunch of questions about it, but he's the one who told me it was such a a specialized field that he wouldn't give me an answer to any of my questions. I ended up spending a small amount of money to get answers to all my patent questions from an online attorney.

I have a nephew-in-law who was a patent attorney and said it bored him to death so he now works with nuclear power plants and the law.

Wonderful. Very well written. Impressive that the prototype of these glasses worked so well in a real life situation. Itis great that they are now one family with a lovely closeness, and I hope that does not lead to the expected dramas to follow.

Thanks, Wendy, but you know me better than that!

There will be a few wicky stickets before the end.

I am enjoying the "Days of Our Lives" feel of this story, with well developed characters you can identify with, who seem like people you might actually know. Alan has moved a long way from the shy, victimized character he was in Chapter 1. As a teacher, inventor, husband and father, as well as entrepreneur, he is now able to take charge of his world. Your story is well thought out and paced.

Thanks very much for this very fine review, Lorraine. I appreciate it greatly. Alan has had a chance to blossom, so maybe what happened to him was a blessing in disguise.

Nice, error-free writing. I almost forget that I'm reviewing the writing, or should be, as much (or more) than the content.
It would prob'ly be a bit more than disconcerting for me with the movie audio and having to push the button during dialogue.
Best wishes.

I saw a video of the actual device that was invented in 2010, and it looks like the user holds his finger up in front of the lens to trigger it to start translating.

Finally, you have turned the corner and from here the story gets juicy, yes?
A thought just crossed my mind... did you name Tommy, Tommy when thinking of me? Good luck with the patent.

I hope you find it so.

As far as Tommy goes, it's possible it was in my subconscious mind to name him after you, but it certainly wasn't a conscious decision. You have my permission to take credit if you want to, though.
