Oh my gosh,
Don!!! I can't believe you found that picture! What a part of childhood that book was. You brought in the bologna/baloney sandwiches. Roy Rogers lunch box is classic. Mine was Lassie. Funny the things you remember, and from simpler days.

I learned the difference between Baloney and bologna. the child memories are strong .I feel i could never get the flavour of my chicken curry right ,like the way mum used to make it...Thanks for sharing..

Oh, sweet memories of long ago. A Roy Rogers lunch box is a treat for any boy when growing up in the early 60s. I had one of my own as a boy, used it, and abused it banging it around the bus on the way to school. But boy howdy did I love it! I love the artwork as well it fits in well with the theme of this poem.
Take me back to the good old days!

I was sure your word was correct and the children's version was wrong, but I checked it out and both are correct! It's funny, because I've always used, (a load of) baloney as being rubbish, untrue, so now I've learned something else! I had cheese and pickle! That was a fabulous 5-7-5 entry, and certainly opened my mind up, :)) it was really well done. Good luck in th contest. :)) Warmst hugs, Sandra xx

You are so very generous and Kind Sandra. I had to look the two words up and found that either could be used. Baloney, is probably Americanized slang.

nice little senryu about lunch time memories. My favorite lunch was left over Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches which I enjoyed for weeks after Thanksgiving. I also loved Peanut Butter and Banana sandwiches my favorite sandwich was BLT
