No matter how bad things were, or how bad they get, most of the time something as simple as a cheeseburger can go a long toward making things better, long as you aren't the one who's hurt. :-) Sorry, just couldn't help myself. Now you know how I think when it comes to food. Great job!
Thanks for sharing.

In my opinion a good cheeseburger is the best food. Now, it has to be a good cheeseburger, not the fast-food garbage. LOL Thank you for the kind review.

A very touching episode Barbara, the theme and the characters in this havevtheir own personal stories to tell, and due to Noah's relationship to Sami, it's seems to be melting his heart, so many involved in his type of work could be deeply affected by it, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Awesome write. The damage done by the monsters engaged in trafficking children or anyone for that matter deserve the harshest sentence allowable under the law. I fear that some of the children who have been abused the most severely may never fully recover. That is heartbreakingly sad. This fills me with a sense of sadness and outrage at the sane time.

Excellent dialogue once again Barbara, you really kept me engaged throughout this chapter. I could feel Sami's concern for Myra and I hope she pulls through and is well soon. An excellent chapter, I enjoyed reading it.

What a lovely, butsad in places, chapter. You did very well in bringing us up to post about Myra's condition. I look forward to more of this. A few spags, today."You [all] (al)right with this?"
He caressed her hand and whispered, "You [all] (al)right?"
few strikes again(st) you."

"If you are, you'll do as most writers do and stick to all right. It is by far the more common styling in published, edited text." I'll correct the 'against'. I always appreciate your help.

Very nice post, Barb. It seems we are about to bring things together. The proposal must be coming up soon. It will be interesting to see how Myra fits into the picture.

I would take a cheeseburger girl anytime. Ha!
Great chapter. Lots of losse ends getting tied in. Also very realistic as far as the chain of events in a sec trafficking scheme.
Great job here!

To be honest my very favorite food is a good cheeseburger, but it has to be a good one. Not the fast-food type. Thank you for the kind review.

A fine chapter! A lovely visit first off, and then a very difficult one, but it is good that Sami is interested in looking after Myra, although it will be an ongoing risk for her with those who want vengeance. And she is young and inexperienced with the requirements of being a foster carer for those who have been through significant trauma. Well told.

I think her young age and Myra's deep needs would weigh against her. As well as Noah not wanting Sami to go places by herself. Noah cannot take on anymore. And as long as he is in the FBI his time is not his own. It really could never work. However, she could help out with whoever does take care of her. Karen

We'll see what happens. Noah isn't FBI, but Homeland Security. That will make a difference. Thank you for the kind review.

Great chapter. I especially liked Amber's dialogue. She sounded so natural. I figure there will be more about her, or you wouldn't have brought her in at this point. You might want to include Amber in the dialogue. You might want to check your punctuation in this: "three grandchildren, two boys and one girl. Makes it sound like 6 total. Maybe a dash instead of a comma after grandchildren. Very touching visit with Myra at the hospital. She was really badly treated when she was being held. Seems a lot of responsibility for Sami to be her foster parent, as she is so young. It would certainly please Myra. judi

Thank you for the kind review. I'll check that area out. We're finished with Amber. I wanted to tie up the loose ends with the puzzle box back at the safe house.

You're welcome. The puzzle box was intriguing. judi
