Once again a beautifully written chapter. The pace is slower here, but considering the depth of the subject matter that is perfectly appropriate. A great deal to ponder here.

Val is in a tough place now, told to let the sicko priest kill Julia and do nothing. No way he can do that. Great tension for the characters and suspense for us lucky readers. Another great chapter! Btw, congrats on landing in the winners' circle for book of the month! :)

Good chapter. You threw a ton of foreboding our way. I liked the interactions between Gregorio and Valerius. It reminded me of two kids sharing ideas and getting very excited about it. At the same time I saw Gregorio's warnings to be quite ominous.
The first part of your story, the conversation between Rastavius and Gregorio was hard to follow. i had to re-read to figure out who was talking.
Other than that, I thought it was a good chapter. Looking forward to more teacher/student chapters with Valerius and Gregorio.

It goes at a fast and nice speed. I like that. You keep to the line and now it gets more thrilling. I will continue reading. Thanks for sharing.

this has slowed in pace considerably in this section. that is fine by me. the depth of discussion you are achieving here is unheard of here. this is a great piece to read and ponder. excellent.

Oh No, looks like Julia may not have a protector in the doctor but it truly is the way society works. So many ghastly things have happened throughout history because to oppose it could get you killed.

This is chillingly powerful, Mikey. I can't wait for it to unfold. Uncanny!
draws attention from He that created us. [ATTENTION is the subject of the sentence, HIM is the object, followed by WHO created us.]

Valerius will learn that humans not to be trusted. Their warped sense of right and wrong is scary. I hope that Valerius can keep Julia safe. These so called priests won't hesitate to harm her. This is another well crafted chapter.
