Many things going on, with the disease and that pesky priest still on the warpath. Great story, always holds the attention. I hope the disease can be cured. Enjoyable as always, Faye

There are several strains. It depends on which one they have. All are survivable, but some have high mortality rates. But, it helps to have a doctor handy. mikey

Well that was a nice turn of events. Now if Julia can be saved from the pox...but perhaps that will be how she goes. so many died from that in those days. it will be exciting to see when they return and who they will be next time.

I'm getting near the end. Someone has to go. Maybe it will be me, unable to get rid of either one! I'm a little intimidated trying to follow this segment with the next one...

Julia will die from the pox and doc will catch it from taking care of everyone and finally die.

Good chapter, Mikey. Lots of action, predictably,t he evil forces, who pass themselves off as being the good forces, are at a temporary advantage. But no one is paying attention to the oracle. Methinks he will prove their bane--for the soldiers and Cicero, a real bane in the ass.
Your usual fine fare, Mikey.

I think I actually see an end to this segment. Then I'm faced with following it. Ha! I don't know how to top this. Maybe they'll be born on another planet... mikey

I think you can skip
lines and put
&&&&& nothing symbols and stuff. Copy and paste a paragraph. Sometimes you just want to say, "Great work!", but it won't let you. I did see about the trouble your way. A terrible thing. The world is crazy. More craziness today too. Well, I stay at home and make things up!! mikey

This is very pleasing, 'tiss the season... the Genie has granted me three, poor pitiful me. Oh, wee! This is a beauty. A precious ruby found clinging to a sedimentary rock in the river-bed, as cascades of water flow. My spirit still shines bright. This chapter is out of sight! Who needs bright? Alright, I saw no inferior SPAG; I'm not an old hag with a dishrag. I speak in riddles, I do not exist! Beware of the fanstory ghost that comes three times a month. I rocked the cradle, but I review this excellent story, not for fame? I am not shamed. I played the game, came up with snakes eyes, you see. This is full of glee... don't pitty me. Beware of the fanstory ghost, spook-a-doo! they call me. Never dare! if you feel a cold zephyr depart your hair. i am there! Boo...

Hey Wackymaniac! The ghost is manifesting in real ways. How do you manage to pass out a six??? The ghost is no ordinary ghost. It's funny, my favorite thing to tell people here is that they don't exist. Hahaha. Thank you much sir. Get reinstated. mikey

Great diversion by Valorous with the horn. Was Abramus knocked out for a short while or just bluffing?
One typo:
Petrus and Father Thurston rode to great them.--'great' should be 'greet'
Story continues with much interest by this reader. Good job, mikey.

Dear Michael - though I haven't read previous chapters this one still grabbed my attention. What fascinating threads you weave expertly, I was taken aback by the ease of this read. I though I'd be somewhat lost and almost never reviewed it. However you intrigued me, and so did your characters.
Your post is alive with detail, depth that makes it almost breath on its own. I loved the read, saw no errors and above all it entices me to read more. I also liked the way you have so many characters interacting so smoothly - really well done, want to read more.
Thanks for sharing, happy holidays.

That is all so very encouraging. I can't stop smiling. I love this story and can't seem to wrap it up. :) So, things keep happening. Thrilled you could get something out of it jumping in the middle. Thank you so much. Happy holidays to you and yours as well. mikey
