A nice beginning with just the right combination of simplicity and humor. The appearance of the gnome Constantine at the end is very intriguing. I am looking forward to reading the next chapter. Excellent start.

Hooray! I am so very glad you've decided to jump in and follow Nicholas and company!! :) Fantasy is what I enjoy the most... in fact, Even though I'm purposefully keeping each one to about 500 words on purpose, it is so-o-o tempting to go longer!! ;) :) But, I shall persevere (wink, wink!) and I'm so happy you'll be along for the adventure! ;) Take care out there and enjoy the adventure! ;) Yvette

Good story opening. I also like Nicholas as a character. I thought the part about cutting off George Thrasher's package was funny. Good story thus far.

I was avoiding fantasy fiction although I'm not sure why because I've written some myself but since you have all your chapters paying, I'll take a look. This is good writing. I like it.

I decided to start at the first chapter as you recommended. This looks like there could be a bit of magic coming. Nicholas looks like he got lucky and found his calling early in life. I look forward to seeing what else the gardens may reveal.

I'm glad you steered me to this prologue, YM. I enjoyed reading it and know more about the main character and the setting. I'm glad you added it to your book to make it easier to find for others who haven't read it. Your words were filled with good imagery and great dialogue. I look forward to following the chapters as they are shared. Thanks for this informative prologue. Respectfully with Love and Admiration, Jan.

This prologue is so interesting, nothing has turned out the way I expected it and I love that. It's quite an interesting start to the story. Of course, I especially love the ending. An amazing twist for me.
