I enjoyed this post very much and all that it offers.
I was always taught that, "practice makes permanent." :)
All of these points discussed are extremely crucial to teach our young people. I, for one hope I have instilled most if not all of them into my children. I appreciate your thoughtfulness in sharing your thoughts with us.

Dear lady, thank you for your review, and kind words, Terry.

Lots of good advice for success in this life are included in your piece. Well written as always. I liked especially the one that mentions learning from mistakes - that's the sign of growth as a person. I also liked the wisdom of harnessing the skills and expertise of others, not trying to do everything one's self. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Terry, this is an informative piece, and I enjoyed hearing about all the important people you've met on your life's journey. I'm happy to be out of the rat race and don't have to worry too much about success. My two boys are my biggest successes. This was well-written and to the point.

John, I am glad to old and retired. Thanks for reading, Terry.

There's lots of great advice here, Terry. I am ready to score a touchdown or sink the winning putt. Actually, I am several things, all important. I must say being a wife and mother is the absolute best. I've had to adjust quite a bit with my eyesight loss. However, I have learned some of the important things you've outlined here, I put my time and energy into writing. I write between 4 to 6 hours a day and publish, or store and save the rest for another time. Writing is so much fun for me, but it is a daily discipline. Thank you so much for sharing.
Sending you my best today as always,

Y'know Terry, l have over 50 messages that I haven't read, because there's not enough time in a day to get to all the posts. However if I see yours or Gary's, and Roy (yet I can't keep up so only occasionally) I am on it like flies on....honey.
I always know I will enjoy it and have learned or reminded of at least one important lesson. You had so many awesome messages within your story this time, but my favorite reminded me of something I learned 50 years ago from the guy that tops my list of men; my husband Glen. I didn't always like his approach, but he always said that being some place 15 minutes early meant we would be on time. So in our early years if I wasn't in the car by 5 minutes earlier than what time we planned on leaving, he would be blowing the horn. It irritated me but have gotten so good at being early, I get in the car now and teasingly blow the horn at him. It usually brings a smile, but every once in a while he uses excuses. I make sure I repeat his old words...."there's no excuses, you had sufficient notice and no such thing as being fashionably late!" End of story! Thanks for the awesome read! As always, I loved it! Great one my dear friend!

Your advice is well expressed with great examples, Terry.
I enjoyed reading each one. I like the football quotes etc.
used to illustrate them. This advice is great for anyone, not
just business people.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

I had three businesses in my lifetime, all three weren't that successful, but I survived, and were able to put food on the table, clothes on our backs, and a roof over our heads. But I worked to live, not lived to work, my wife taught, we had many holidays, saw many countries, played music in many places, raised good musicians in two families, taught my kids to depend on God. I guess it depends how one looks at life. But thanks, I admire men like you and Gary. We're all different, thanks for sharing, blessings Roy

You too Terry, success is relative. I remember somebody saying to me, ?we get lost in doing the urgent, and delay the important.? Bless you Terry,

This essay is packed with good advice. Two in particular made me think, oh yes:
> ask questions and pay attention
> Time is the most valuable thing you have, so use it wisely
If I could remember these two ALL the time, I think I would do better. Kate xx

that was written in such a comfortable way like we were talking over a cup of coffee. Your thoughts and ideas were valuable and easy to comprehend. I don't see why anyone would not use them. I got the real feeling that you are a very wise man with a great handful of writing skills. I kept reading and was glad I did. great writing and great ideas on achieving success.
