Even though I "jumped in" the middle of the story, it was still easy to follow. The cast of characters list helped me picture the scene as well. Nicely written.

However, you did not tell me what needs to be fixed... according to the rating system, your rating of 4 means, by definition, that "adjustments are needed". How fun. I like your little drone-like "imp." I don't know what it is yet or what its name is but I liked how much character and expression you gave this little creature, showing us the look of the eyes and the emotional color changes.

LOL! So glad you enjoyed the imps, Helen... I plan on using them on and off cuz they were so fun!! ;) Thanx so much for keeping up with Nicholas and company ... Purposefully keeping each one to about 500 words on purpose, but it is so-o-o tempting to go longer!! ;) :)
I apologize for being so far behind!! Was a crazy week and I have all the boys home this weekend (HOORAY!!).... I'm attempting to get caught up while they're outside working on cars!! Don't know how far I'll get, but we'll see!! ;) :) Take care! Yvette

Great imagination! The description of the little creature wonderful. I especially liked 'It looked like a little red pepper ready to explode,' and the wisps of smoke and the voice. The style of writing is natural and easy to read and would appeal to children and to adults. I will have to read your other chapters to get a handle on the characters but Nicholas's voice comes through as he tells the story and his sense of humor evident as he talks to the little red pepper.

Great imagination! The description of the little creature wonderful. I especially liked 'It looked like a little red pepper ready to explode,' and the wisps of smoke and the voice. Oh, I am glad that you are back to your chapter books. I liked this story, and I was worried that you had abandoned it. I really like your creation of the flying menaces. The way you describe one's tapping to invisible music, the aqua smoke, and the folding of the six arms, it made me smile as well. He is my favorite of the fantasy characters that you have created. I hope he has a big part to play in future chapters. It was also a charming idea to hit him with a blueberry. That was random, and you know how I like random humor.
I am out of six stars ratings. I only say this because I want you to know this chapter is good.
