Once again I say, the lesson Jeremiah is teaching Timmy, applies to all of the arts. When I was in high school, I was selected to sing a song in the school musical from the play, The King and I. The music teacher told me to stop singing, close my eyes and imagine I was the character who sang the song in the play. It worked. I sang with more feeling.
When you write, it helps when you imagine you are in the story. But you already know that or you wouldn't be able to write this story. Well done.

Thanks, Lorraine. I so appreciate all the support and valuable thoughts you share with me. I really hope these short stories are valuable enough to end up in a children's book with illustrations some day.

Timmy may not have known how to bring the pond alive but you certainly do Carol. A lovely story of finding a little magic and letting it free. Nice story Carol.
Cheers

I can see why Timmy thought he imagined the frog in the first place. I was glad to see you returning to these two characters again, Carol. You've built the setting of the pond really well and I can see it in my mind's eye as I was reading. Another excellent piece, I enjoyed reading it.

Part two of the previous pond story? I'm wondering if Jeremiah is a copyrighted name for a bullfrog, because of the song-'- just in case you're thinking of publishing. It's fun that the frog talks, and that Timmy is able to paint the movement of the water. Blessings. Carol

I guess that's the secret of anything that is artistic, it's capturing the depths that are there, more the layers of beauty, and the sheer depths of existences, and the nuances thereof, beautifully written Carol, blessings Roy

I used to love Three Dog Night!
Was the the inspiration for Jeremiah's name?
This was a lesson for all ages.
We most take care n the world with all of our senses.
Only them can we hope to be truly moved, and move others with our artistic expression!

Good grief Herbert! How do you do it? You write so well, and with such feeling. Is there no type of writing you cannot do? Have you ever written a western? That is what I am attempting again. The muse doesn't wanna help. Have a good new year. Karen

This was a sweet story with a lovely lesson that everyone should take into their lives. Most of us are too busy to just stop and feel the life around us. It really is beautiful. I love Jeremiah as a name for the frog, but I do remember a song from the sixties about Jeremiah the Bullfrog. It was one of my favorite songs, but I don't suppose many people have heard it.

Another excellent children's story. I'm still not sure it was fair turning Jeremiah or is it Jeremy (it switches) into a frog. That seemed arbitrary. Not sure how kids will like that part.
notes:
Jeremiah the Bullfrog
- Ha, I love that, just like the song.
but Lureene would remain stone, surrounded by the swamp.["]

Another lovely story about the magic in the pond, and the noble sacrifice of Jeremiah to achieve this magical state and harmony between the sisters. Very well done.
