Jo Lynn, a well-composed and most meaningful Christmas sonnet.
It is true that so much in the world conspires against joy and peace. Sometimes all we can do is concentrate on that serenity found in the birth of Christ and then work on what we can to make the world better :-) Brooke :-)

Very true. If more would seek and find it, perhaps we could find a way to lighten the load in this world a bit. Thanks for the stop by, always appreciated.

DAWN OF TOMORROW,
Merry Christmas to you and your family too! The rhyming was well done. The flow was smooth. The theme was strong.
There was no SPAG. No room for improvement.
Your feelings are very understandable and expressed through the poem.
I look forward to seeing you again.
Love you,
Oatmeal

A lovely poem in classic sonnet form. Your rhyme and metre are right on the ball and the cadence flows like warm honey. If I had a criticism, it would be the introduction of the "dark side" to the poem, without giving more detail on what you mean by it. Nevertheless, a very well crafted work.

The day of celebration, family get-togethers and Christmas peace inevitably can bring on thoughts of how things may not be so good in other places. This poem expresses that well. Best wishes, Jeanie Mercer

Liked your Christmas prayer.
Especially liked:
Let's join our hearts together, one by one,
uplift our voices now unto the Lord.
Let's pray the evil spread can be undone
so hope and harmony can be restored.
Serenity is found on Christmas morn;
let's praise this day that Jesus Christ was born.
I fear, however, that mankind has never lived in Peace on this earth. I am looking forward to a time when we can.

As am I and you are right mankind never has. Peace will never exist as long as evil walks the earth but one day, we'll find that peaceful place. I too am looking forward to that. Thanks for the great review.

Your poem is very prayer-like and your final couplet a strong declaration of your faith and an eloquent expectation. Best wishes in the Holiday contest and thank you for your kind regards. Happy New Year- Joan

Beautifully written poem with a wonderful message. You have found a nice way to present the truth we most need to hear. It's seems that man's ears are a bit more open around Christmas, so this is very timely and thoughtful.

Yes their can be sense of peace on Christmas day. Christmas is a time to love not to feel sad, or full of despair.
If we can feel the Christmas peace wrapped around us, this Christmas could allow for a very peaceful and loving Christmas ever.
Wonderful words written
Honeytree.

Christmas should be a time without despair but because of the materialism that we have brought along with it, it makes for much stress and despair for a great deal of people outside of the ones who just are doing without so often in our world. Thank you so much for having taken the time to read and reflect.
