I love the variety of settings you choose for your Christmas stories. This one, about animals, is surely different. I look forward to seeing how Rosie and the lost deer connect. With the wise old owl overseeing everything, I think all will work out fine. Great story.

Aw, Carol, this is just too sweet. What a lovely story and I can't wait for the continuation. I truly believe that animals can read and sense our moods. I see it with my dog every day. It's such a bittersweet story. A big hug, Ulla xxx

Yes, that's a great line "When loneliness turns to celebration." After much thought, and as the holiday get ever closer, and more trying, I've decided Vegas is calling. LOL. Thanks for sharing. I'm sure Santa might even stop in for a drink and a massage.

Have fun...just be safe... And don't let them give you any wooden nickels.

I tried to save a review but it didn't work so I'll try again on my phone. I think you created sympathy for the main character and we are cheering her one to make a great Christmas for the orphaned fawn and the other forest animals. Maybe she'll hear them talk.

This is a lovely story. It is so sad for her that her father can't be there for Christmas. When she meets a young deer in the forest, he seems to be missing his mother. She starts thinking about how she can help the deer and maybe help herself also. I'm looking forward to the second part.

Rosie needs a friend and some comfort. The small deer needs his mother, and Rosie needs her dad. I like the way Rosie feels so comfortable around the animals, and takes care of Jasper because he is picked on. She has a good heart. Good story! Blessings. Carol

Carol,
What a great story. The poor little girl feels all alone like the little deer. Maybe they will become fast friends and like she says and help each other.
Great job my friend

I am so far behind that I might never catch up until next year at this time. I have writing all day and my eyes are going cross-eyed. Thank you for always reading, enjoying reviewing my stories. I do appreciate all the time and effort it takes.

There are so many lonely p[eople of all ages, and the festive season seems to make their loneliness even worse. This si a very poignant story, very enjoyable, and I am looking forward to reading the next part.

I enjoyed reading part 1 and especially warmed to Rosie who's got a good heart but clearly lacks meaningful companionship. But I have the feeling that's going to change soon. You brought the animals to life as much as the humans, Carol, and the deer didn't even need to speak for his timid and sad personality to be skilfully conveyed. With Jasper on side too, this Christmas is going to be something special for Rosie, that's for sure! Well done, Carol. Take care Debbie
But it never hurts to mention what you need to(o)

Oh boy... Now I'm already reaching for my box of tissues. A lonely little girl, a mommy gone, a daddy who isn't expected home for Christmas --
(but I have hope!)--
I'm a sucker for animal stories, and talking animals are just the best, especially for a Christmas story!
I'd say more, but I MUST find out HOW you are going to deliver us another warm, toasty, cheerful, Christmas story...
Smiles!
