Memories we will always have and deal with in our lives. Some words were meant to hurt others, to demean them. For you something you did and realized your words could hurt someone. I entered this contest entry for some to look back and relive some parts of their life. Thank you for your honesty.

I know of this "Shell Shock" I've had friends with it from different wars. As it doesn't take much for those people to go off. A loud bang set my friend off. He would think he was still on the battle field. It was kind of scary for me the first time this happened. But as I got to know what it was I felt sorry for him. Another friend would only go to sleep if he had his knife with him for security. I can see where you would have the feeling you do about teasing this man. Sorry you have to live with that scar. And know that just because a person shows no disability on the outside they may be fighting it on the inside. Thank you for sharing your story.

Sometimes we do/did use the kid excuse but as you say it does not ease the conscious, I know of kids today who taunt the homeless, they have no idea what brought these souls to where they unfortunately are, very well written, best wishes for your contest****kahpot

Thank you for taking the time to read and the encouraging response. You are so right about those who chose to taunt the homeless. I am not surprised that many teens feel empower by the moral decay that is taking place in our society today. I hope with some responsible guidance and maturity, they will see the error of their ways.
