Your poem is so heartfelt. I felt the love you have for Lolita shining through every word. The way you described her journey from a tragic start to finding trust was so moving. It's a beautiful tribute that also shows your care.

I appreciate the kind words and hope you checked out two poems about sweet Lolita that I provided in the note section. There is no need to review them.
I never thought I'd ever own a monkey, but when I saw her in the pet shop in a tiny bird cage, perched on a dirty rod, I knew I had to save her. By that point, she had given up on life.

This is sweet about Sweet Lolita! That has always been a desire of mine to be able to hold a monkey. I came close to it in Branson Missouri when we got to feed some lemurs that jumped all over us. I enjoyed your poem. Even though Lolita's freedom was taken, it sounds like she was given a lot of love and gave love back. Well done!

I never thought to buy a monkey but Lolita was perched in a tiny bird cage in a pet shop called Noah's Ark.
I could see she had given up all hope and I had to save her.
I hope you read the two links I provided in the note section.
She was unique. We went hunting in Summer every day for insects, and we never made her wear a diaper.
She knew where to pee etc. She was very clean.
