Oh! I want to try it! I never can seem to create shapes with poems. I will try this and let you know. Did you begin with an image as the prompt? How creative you are. Thank you for sharing this! Alexandra :)

Thank you so much for your review. I appreciate it. No, I did not start with an image for the poem. I wrote the poem first and then found the image.

Having raised wolves and wolf hybrids I hear what your words say, though healthy wolves avoid human contact as much as possible. It is only the sick or aged, or perhaps a lone wolf will actually go after humans. Still an interesting poem. The words and image fit well together.

Hey Patricia. Great job on crafting a new, fun form. I always enjoy trying shape poems and must try this one soon. You did a good job of picking a theme and art and the emotional pull of 'chills of fear' was a good addition. Well done.

-Very nice artwork and presentation.
-I'm glad I've found someone
who also likes syllables.
-I never thought of just
taking some numbers and
seeing what happens.
-You did a good job with yours.
-Very good nature imagery
creates a good word picture
of the wolf and "winter winds."
-You describe the impact of
of sounds of the wolves.
-Very good concluding lines.

Hearing wolves when you are all alone in the woods would send a chill down your back for sure. I liked the suspenseful tone and the chilling feeling to this. Very well done. Gretchen

I wouldn't want to hear the sound of wolves. They would make me afraid, This is a lovely presentation. I think you might do better than "sounds are to be heard." It's wordy. Think of what the sounds might be from. Be more specific. How do the wolves sound? Excellent format. judi

Patricia,
I like this poem about a very misunderstood animal. I have never heard a wolf's howl (except second hand on YouTube). The howl is both beautiful and alarming. I keep thinking this is how they communicate, though. I don't know what I would do if I ever crossed paths with a wolf's though.
Great poem,
Blessings,
Cindy
