Great job, excellent. What a refreshing read. I loved your use of the terms "green thumber" and maniacally watering. It gave me opportunity to reflect upon my own watering. I was reminded of something I had written. Good job of reaching into the mind of the reader. --Stan

Makes you think what plants talk about at night when all the lights are turned off and just the stars the only illumination? Very well written one is able to forget these are plants after all as we go through the conversation. Yes I enjoyed it very much. Regards MaBaker

Oh my, what a surprise. This goes back a ways. I'm so pleased you found it and chose to review. Delighted you enjoyed this. Somehow this makes me feel like a writer knowing you've delved into my "catalogue" as it were. Ha! Thank you so much. Big smiles here, mikey

Well, family thinks I am nutts talking to my fruit trees and caring for them. However they enjoy eating the fruit. Wish I could get a Willow to from on this old hill. Well done . i can understand the blue ribbon.

Interesting theme for a writing prompt, and I like your entry. :) There are always things we need to open our eyes to.
Nicely written - thanks for sharing!
Just a couple of nits for your consideration:
"I am not sure I am sad, Agricula, I worry." (The second comma should be a semicolon)
"He waits for the water everyday" ("every day")
"a houseplant forever, you will be" (The comma should be a semicolon)
"as I will one-day look." ("one day")

This was an outstanding piece of work. So much hidden meaning as well. Wilow is right who are we to pick and choose. I must admit I do talk to my plants as I water, feed, prune and all the usual garden jobs. I feel so connected to the beautiful plants in my garden that give me so much pleasure. I just connected instantly with this superb story. Well done and such a pleasure to read. Genya

Hehehe I bet there are 1000 reasons why that little house plant needs to live, and maybe also a 1000 for why it needs to die !! I like your story. Its longer than most of my short stuff so I can learn from this !

Well, your prose gets better and better every day. This is simply superb, the dialogue between human and tree accepted, not fantastical, as somehow you immediately steer the reader to knowing this is parable, a philosophical write akin to Gibran. So when are you going to send this one out?

This is, of course, very well written and a most engaging read. You paint an interesting portrait of the willow which I am sure did quite well in the contest voting. Nicely done and I thank you so much for sharing this with me.
